Wonderful penny idea!  Good luck!  I enjoyed Jeffrey's <a href="http://rssryffr.com">recnet</a>  eating on $1 a day  series and got some great couponing strategies.  I used to use many of my soon-to-expire coupons for a shopping trip for food bank items every few months.  Then the economy tightened my own budget so much that I had to cut way back   now I coupon and catalina and drug store sale shop ONLY for coffee/tea/creamers/splenda for the food bank.  The food bank manager was thrilled because almost no one donates coffee and families really miss that.   It narrows my focus and helps me stay on (okay, closer to) my philanthropy budget.  And using the coupons and deals satisfies my  thrill of the bargain hunt.   Thanks for your inspiration.
Whitestripe,Sometimes people buy  junk  just to make money or get ovargee.For example, I'm getting a bunch of candy bars this week because CVS has  Buy $15 and get $5 back  deal.  I'm getting these candy bars for free with coupons, so I'm actually making $5 by doing this.
